GA airports have been disappearing for years in the U.S. Livermore CA has been active since after WWII. Around 1985 a housing tract was put in on the flight path into runway 7, which is outbound on 25. Sudenly the owners of these new houses realized they were in this path, and decided they wanted it closed! Only problem is, it's a federally funded transport AP for Lawrence Livermore and Sandia Labs, it's the only reason it is still there. There is a directive to turn right ASAP when departing 27, when the PIC deems it safe! LMAO. Although some years ago LLL decided they didn't want planes flying over the facility, which happens to be on the ILS and thought an "aircraft denial system" should take effect. We thought they meant missels or something, more LMAO........... cheers, Bill
