I wonder if you can get the Mercedes L3000 cab separately....

I don't think the cab can be bought as a separate set. Just I haven't seen a such one.

Yep.. but it is a kit with parts for the chassis only while Jan seems to be interested in the set for the driver's cabine.

However I can't see anthing difficult for making the cab from scratch. Generally if I would be interested in a such vehicle I made the model from scratch entirely. Of course having the base parts for the tractor would be a great advantage and would make the work quicker..
