Hello to you all.
I apologise if I am in the wrong section, but I hope you can perhaps help me.
I metal detect here in the U.K.
One of my sites I was told had a plaone crash in WWII. Now I know this is a fact as I have stumbled on the area finding lots of lightweight poeces of metal, some with what look like the rivets from a plane.
The other day I dug up a piece that I feel could be from this crashed plane.
Some suggested to me from a B17.
Now this area is where there was an airfield, Lavenham in Suffolk.
I looked up and found that a B17 did come down in Lavenham.
I would be very grateful if anyone could maybe just say it might well be a part from this aircraft, or is nothing whatsoever to do with any aircraft
If my father was still alive he would have told me in an instant as he was very much involved with this subject, and worked for Hawkers Aircraft here in the U.K. but that is another story.
Here are the pictures anyway, thanks very much for any help.
