Unknown German aircraft part

Probably German As the person I got it from was in the Luftwaffe in ww2 but he passed before I could really ask. And yes I under stand that it's a window

That's a starboard frame from a Bf109.

Wow thanks, now this part means a bit more to me now that I know what it it's... also never though it would be that heavy

The frame supported a very heavy, thick armoured glass windscreen and so had to be pretty stout. The thick framing was often criticized as reducing visibility and adding to the claustrophobic feeling of the 109 pit.
