Unknown instrument dial

Hello
I am new to the forum. I found this today whilst metal detecting and believe it has come from a WW2 aircraft. Could anybody enlighten me please?

Just a guess, but if it is from an aircraft, it's possibly part of the adjustment for offset on a drift meter or course setting bombsight. It is also similar to many other such adjusting devices, ranging from civilian survey instruments, to military 'dial sights', or even adjustment of farm machinery.
Any info on possible aircraft crashes where found?

I'm with Terry on this one. Norden had something similar on it's bombing "computer", but the style was a little different (there were probably variations). Here is a photo of the Norden computer:

All the Norden sights I have seen have the N S E W indicators on them, which this doesn't have. It doesn't mean it's not from a bombsight, I don't believe that it is from a Norden bombsight.
