Supposed to be from the 85th FS/79th FG though the markings seem to be a mish-mash. In the book, "The 79th Fighter Group Over Tunisia, Sicily and Italy" a photo shows the pin-up facing the other way around and in a profile, the aircraft markings as X1✪5 piloted by 2nd Lt. Charlie BolackAre the markings on this P-40 accurate?
Conceptually no different to any other aircraft. The Armstrong Whitworth AW.660 Argosy, Fairchild C-119 Flying Boxcar and even Fairchild XC-120 Packplane had similar configurations.I still try to comprehend how that French plane, Noratlas (Originally posted byv2 , post #7599, page 380, second from down) flies!!!
The shape of the plane is a little ... weird! to me, at least!
