What was the most versatile plane of ww2?

Basically, most aircraft can be modified to perform a myriad of various specialty missions beyond their original design specification. Just because a particular aircraft was (or wasn't) used as such, doesn't make it any more (or less) versatile. The only limits are imagination and economic feasibility.
