I'm trying to research what were the different Medals, decorations and honours given specifically to aviators both serving with the allies and axis powers during the First World War and Second World War's. What the different variations? were and why were they awarded?
Hi everyone, i recently came into possession of a B24 gun turret control arm. The serial numbers and stamps are all intact - is there a way to identify the particular aircraft it was made for ? See what happened to it?
I'd love to be able to know the story behind this part.
Air Marshall Arthur T. Harris, Commander in Chief, RAF Bomber Command.
London. June 3, 1942.
"The Nazis entered this war under the rather childish delusion that they were going to bomb everybody else and nobody was going to bomb them...
They sowed the wind and now they are...

Afternoon folks,
I'm planning on building an F4U-1C model. The biggest issue I'm facing is the lack of good documentation online about this plane. As far as I can find, there are no solid images or better yet blueprints of the upper wing. I'd like to be able to find out the exact size for the...
I think the Macchi is better since it was much faster had a much better armament with more ammo (compared to the original a6m5, not its variants which had even worse flight performance).
It has a Competitive (not better) climb rate and turns time compared to the a6m5 but the Macchi has a...
I know the guys up top are kinda skeptical about flight sims but war thunder is so much fun and in general video games propelled my love for history and planes. If it weren't into historical video games I would be a weeb or I would be playing Minecraft all-day
If you are interested put your...
Everything I read talks about how garbage the Breda 88 was from commando supermo to Wikipedia. The war thunder wiki gets in the fun even saying the sm79 would be a better attacker. But when I used it in-game (I don't play arcade I play simulator or realistic) it's not terrible and I have a lot...
Hello All,
I hope one of you can help me. I'm from Ghana, and would like to know the type(s) of WW2 planes that were assembled in Takoradi. These planes were flown from Takoradi to Cairo after assembly, to help defend North Africa and the Middle East during WW2.
Does anyone have any ideas...
In the Battle of Britain, the Hurricane shot down about twice as many Nazi (german) aircraft, compared to the Spitfire.
How many bombers (HE-111, Stuka, etc) did the Hurricane shoot down and how many bombers did the Spitfire shoot down?
And how many German fighter were shoot down (Hurricane vs...
Separate peace between Germany and USSR and its impact on the air war from early 1943.
Berlin and Moscow have reached understanding and ceased the fire at the end of 1942 or early 1943. Not later the end of March 1943 (after the Battle of Kharkov).
A new pact is signed, followed by a number of...
The Fairey Barracuda is an unique design. It became the first aircraft in Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm to be fabricated entirely of metal. It would operate in si...
Hi does any one have any information on WW2 aircraft or the place the plane's was stationed at in the south east UK. Hastings saw a lot of action in WW2 and I'm trying to find out if there's any stories about planes being called out to Hastings.
Hi my granddad fought in WW2 sadly he died before I was born. He had two girls so didn't really talk much to them about the war. I have his medals but no paper work other then his certificate of Dunkirk which has a number at the bottom right, but I have no idea where to use the number. Any...

This obscure plane saw quite limited service during ww2. It was designed from the tri-engine ca.101, and despite the reliability risk of a single engined bomber (especially inline engines), it turned out to be a good decision. It was faster than the ca.101 and the ca.133. It mostly served in...
Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum and thought this would be a good first post. I'm a young collector and just becoming interested in WW2 artifacts. I purchased this Senninbari and was hoping it could be translated. I've seen the amazing work Shinpachi has done helping out members on the form...
