You mean gun serial number? Connected to an airplane. That would be very very difficult.
Better use crash site to find out of a p-47 crashed there en reverse back. That i did many times succesfully.

Yes I know ! No MACR because crash in liberated zone (September 22, 1944).
Little identifiable debris.

Indeed where did it crash?. There are archives that hold info end with a bit of detective work it can be possible.
Place date time will lead to a loss record i.g. fold3.com.
