Greetings Guys, And Gals;

The Wright Cyclone R-8020 is the aircraft engine that you would find
in: B-24, F-4-F, SBD, and etc.

Enjoy,

Mike

Great post Mike and I love these manuals but one minor typo
The B-17 had the Wright Oilcones not the B-24 (it had the Pratt R-1830)
However the Wright 1820 was also used in many other types ranging from DC-1, DC-2 and its military kin (including B-18), some DC-3s and their military kin, from memory some of the oddball North American NA-16 derivatives (P-64??) and T-28; the Grumman Albatross, Duck and Tracker; Lockheed used it in some model 14s and their military kin (Hudson and Lodestar) and it was even in the Piasecki H-21 and Sikorsky S-58 helicopters so there must have been almost as many Wright 1820s as Pratt 1830's. Somewhere I should have the numbers but too tired to think right now.

Now the typo is mine
B-1(smiley) should be B-18
Attached are the production figures for the R-1820 and all Pratt engines from enginehistory.org Total Pratt R-1830s of 173,618 slightly outnumbers Wright R-1820 production of 119,975 even though the 1820 remained in production longer

If anyone wants them I can scan the following R-1820 parts catalogs
GR-1820-G-100 catalog part number 851361
GR-1820G-100 catalog part number 851361-N1
GR-1820G-200 catalog part number 851653

Mike, thanks for providing the R 1820 manuals. I am presently doing voluntary work restoring Ansett Auatralia DC3-232 aircraft which has Wright Cyclone R1820-G202A engines and am looking for details of the engine lifting sling which is not part of the tool kit but was supplied with each engine, i have a P/N 852515 but have not been able to trace or find any details of it. If you know of anyone who mite have this information it would be greatfully appreciated.
Regards John Sw
