You might be correct, I was in at least 3 minds.But I thought the rudder looked a bit too curved for a D.III.Possibly a D.III (OAW)?

The OAW is very likely. The rudder was just used for the late D.III and the D.V "inherited" it. Therefore the shape of the tail isn't the clue. Below here is the shot with the D.III of the Jasta 50 with such rudders. The most important clue what version of the Albatros we can see, is the fusealge shape and the apperture for the cockpit.
The D.V had the fuselage oval in the cross-section from the nose to the tail tip. It resulted not only in the "deeper" fuselage of the round sides but also in the larger cockpit hole. The D.III had the fuselage more square in cross section and sides more flat starting slightly from the wing area and becoming more and more flat to the tail tip. The hole for the cockpit was smaller at sides . And this can be noticed in the image.

It looks like an American serviceman with the Fokker. Fokker DVII 2113/18 is not listed as one that was handed over at Coblenz in January 1919. The background does not correspond to Coblenz fascinating image REF: Flying for Kaiser Wilhelm Aces Aeroplanes and defeat

Fokker D.VII Anthology 3 has Jasta 71 demobilising at Bromberg.I guess this would be Bromberg am Kirbach,stating that 'a number of the unit's aircraft wound up in french or american hands'. So possibly this is the location at which the photo was taken. There is also a photo of 2113/18 showing the machime with Lt Harmon Rorison of the 22nd Aero Squadron,but no specific location mentioned.

You wait for ages and then two come along at once. A french officer with Fokker D.VII. This resembles a machine flown by 213 Aero Squadron,although there are differences of detal in the Indian head.
