WWII airplane USAAF AAF armor shield Plate ? identify

Hello, everyone.
I have an old find armor plate. Does anyone know this? Is it from a USAAF or GB aircraft from WWII? Or is it from a German Luftwaffe aircraft?
I hope someone can help. There are also numbers on it. I'm looking forward to good information. Thanks

I have no expertise but that numbering and lettering doesn't look American to me. Those "1"s look European in style.

Nothing like that on any version of the P40

If it is hinged it is more likely to be from one of the larger aircraft. The Stirling and Lancaster ( and possibly others) both had hinged armour plate behind the pilots seat. The B17 had a single large solid piece.

Dimensions would help

I would suspect non aircraft.

If off an aircraft that angle riveted to the back side would almost certainly be aluminium.

Certainly off nothing I have worked on but I do not have much time on European aircraft.

I agree with SaparotRob that those are European style ones.
