XP-38 Curtiss Prop Decals, color?

The XP-38 had the old Curtiss decals on the prop blades (Curtiss in curly script). I have black and white photos of the XP-38, and I have a version of the decal from the web. The background color I have is dark blue. Was that right or is it supposed to be another color? In the b&w photos that background looks dark so it could be either color.
 
If you are referring to the round logo script, the photos I have seen are dark navy blue background and an orange script.

This photo is slightly over exposed, but proves the color is blue:

If you are referring to the slash decal, I haven't found a color image of that yet, but I think someone makes a scale decal of it
