Good video, although the differences in use were not mentioned or discussed. The "English" archers were used as a form of artillery, launching mass volleys of arrows, at a relatively high angle, at the enemies line, rather than being used to loose single, aimed shots at individuals.

While the English Longbow and Japanese Yumi are certainly deadly, two others are at the top of deadliest bows:
The Scythian Bow and the Tatar Bow.

The Mongolians actually created their own version the Tatar Bow, which is also a devastating weapon in it's own right.
Isn't that Tatar Bow the predecessor of the modern Recurved Bow?
