Shown here is a Spitfire PR.Mk.IV somewhat modified by No.103 MU, based at Aboukir, Egypt. The aircraft had filler applied to achieve a smooth finish, and this was subsequently polished. The wing-tips were extended, and the engine had been specially tuned. The aircraft was used by No.680 Sqd in 1943 for sorties over Salonika.
