I think this qualifies as a SHORT landing. Not military, but shows what a liaison aircraft could do if properly flown. Think L-4.

Here's a cool video of a landing in a remote area of Idaho's back country. Apparently, the strip is called "Simond's" and it's situated in a gorge at 5,243 feet and is approximately 900' long...with a pretty fair incline. Definitely holds a good "pucker factor" for those who might not be used...
