Brilliant,I'd like a go at doing it up!What's the story on this?
These are the pieces left over after the restoration on the Jacque Littlefield Panther A restoration. That is the original turret as is parts of the upper hull deck. The turret is missing about 70% of the original piece when it was taken out of the river in Poland. Probably demoed by the crew to prevent use by the Russians. It was deemed to far gone make use of it in any way.
These bits and bobs arrived when his collection was donated to the AHM. Here's what it looks like in our collection today at Stow. Fabulous restoration job and it will run (with some help)!

Now that does look very impressive!I have to say though I prefer to see things preserved as found rather than done up.For me just clean the dirt off and stop vehicles/aircraft deteriorating and they look more impressive because they're 100% as found original even if they're found blown up.

Now that looks awesome!I visited the Imperial war museum 20 odd years ago and they had a truck that had been found in the desert and they set it up in a sandbox diorama just as it was found and while most commented how bad it's condition was I thought it was the best exhibit there.I believe it was featured in the After the battle magazine.
