Great work Vic . Just to throw a bit of info ---- hopefully other followers might confirm --- the Bombay roof where the fuel tanks go [ against all Mosquito model instructions of all scales ] to the best of my knowledge was actually painted gloss white . I believe this being a standard heat reduction for this area on all Mosquito air frames of all variants [ in case they ended up in hotter climates ] As I said , other followers might be able to enlighten on this
 
I can confirm that the B.35 I'm helping to restore has white surfaces in these areas. This is also true of each wing cell where fuel tanks were present. I've never investigated to what extent this feature was present on earlier models.

 
Heeding your good advice gentlemen, we now have a white upper bomb bay where the fuel tanks go.


Having completed the paint task, the fuel tanks were my focus and are now fitted with a couple of pipes leading off. As yet I've got to find out where these go.

The line that you have coming out of the cap with the silver outline on the left of your photo should not be there. There is only one collection line (the one you have on the right side of your pic) because there is a crossover of the two tanks as you can see.

Your two tanks are Nos. 10 in the below schematic. The line from the pressure reducing valve below would not be present as it services the LR Fuel tank, which you aren't mounting, I think.



The collection point for your lines is called the "Fuel Gallery" and it is located on the starboard wall of the bomb bay. I would hope that it's included in your kit. Here's what the pipes look like in real life (photo is mine):



The line to the No. 2 Starboard tank is hidden in the above pic. but is quite short, going from the Fuel Gallery up and through the bomb bay wall to the right. The other two pipes that go into the front of the gallery service the outboard tanks and can be seen in the below drawing of the starboard bomb bay wall:

Many thanks for this Andy, it all makes sense and I was wondering what the connection unit (fuel gallery) was. Not sure if this kit has one.
 
I've been playing with Merlin and now have a couple of part finished power plants.

I have since changed that greenish colour to a deep slate grey. I just have an aversion to all engine parts being black.




I'm also about ready to spray some of the engine mount parts. I need to know hoe the engines fir before adding some detail.
