Hello my fellow modellers:
After a quite hectic week, this is the advance performed so far. In this period my cellular phone got hacked and you can imagine this crazy period in order to normalize all the accounts.
The good thing is that during this period I did not dropped the kite to the ground....
First during this crisis, oil washes were applied only to the kite panels in order to denote the rivet works performed earlier. The second image corresponds after the cleaning works were completed.
Then it was time to apply a mild weathering work on the kite belly in order to avoid over weathering the previous finishes. The panel and rivet were individually detailed with several washes and the main work was performed with pencil colors that are water soluble. I haven't used before these pencils so there's a first time for everything in this hobby so it seems.... And I'm pleased with the results so far.....
In the fourth image it is appreciated a detail of the kite fuselage where also the B2 stand awaits a further weathering work. I decided to apply another trick under the sleeve with some salt weathering..... hope that this idea works....

The following images belongs to the salt weathering works that are currently on the process of being applied only in the upper green fuselage blotches. The idea is to reduce a little the green hue with some grey color greatly thinned down, emulating a kite weathered surfaces deployed over the high seas....
Also it is scheduled to apply the same technique in the blue surfaces with a darker thinned color applied with the airbrush.

Hello again my fellow modelers:
Thank God, during this period no further incidents are reported during the kite construction
During this period it was applied the textured lines emulating the primer used for the big joints/ corrosion found in the kite fuselage, that were applied after removing the paint works with table salt from the previous period. The insert image is presented as a reference of this type of works.
After much pondering it was time to begin with the surgery and open the canopy in order to relocate the little guys that abandoned their combat stations as well as the loose equipment..... I hate a kite that sound like some wild maracas.....
First the upper clear part was opened just enough in order to glue again these little guys into position. After removing the masks above the clear parts, I was expecting a complete mess inside the cabin based on the noise it made each time the kite was handled.
The real thing was to reposition the upper gunner that it took around six hours to glue it back where it belong due to the cramped and limited space to work. BTW, this relocation work was performed in intervals using some tak as help .
It is worth mentioning that I was quite pleased that the crew is once again in place and no further surgery was needed.........
And now it was time to continue with the weathering works with oil paints for the upper and lower exhaust marks.
Also as reference an insert of the real thing is presented and that was used to apply the initial marks.. I don't want to weather it much more because visually, these dark blotches will weight a lot. But they are an integral part of this kite so it seems......
But guess that at least one engine set had to look dirtier than the other, just for drama don't you think?
And now it's time to begin with the construction of the display and test the wing and fuselage location of the missiles with the help of some small Neodymium magnets in order to remove/attach them at will and avoid destroying them of too much handling.
Basically this will help a lot while in transit to the October Mexico City contest.
