Hello my fellow modellers:

Well, mission almost completed, and the kite was completed during this last period and sent to Mexico City to the IPMS nationals.

First, these are the images prior to the packaging works.
Block 01a.jpg

In the image 1 and 2 its is appreciated the location of the foam glued to the missile in order to emulate the smoke just after the its ignition. Also inside the smoke the electric cables are appreciated. Also in this images can be appreciated the translucid base (photo 3), that was located to the lower wing with a small screw (that was hidden by the foam).

In the 4th image is appreciated the 2 drills located in the frontal kite belly in order to receive two small neodymium magnets and receive the HS 293 along with its base. The same procedure was performed in the port wing. This ponderation was made to avoid any incident during the trip to Mexico City (around 13 hours by bus). In this same image the electrical switches and cables for the cockpit lightning were hidden inside the bomb bay.

In the image 5, the B2 stand was glued into position as well as the B1 stand gun barbette.

In the image 6 the finished kite can be appreciated prior to the packaging works, where also the final display can be seen.

And this are the images of the kite as was presented in the Nationals.
Block 02.jpg

This was the position I left the kite in the first day of the event in order to avoid being touched or by any other incident. On the ID paper I wrote that the model was extremely fragile and to please do not touch or move at any moment. This theme was also commented to the staff responsibles.

These are the images of the final place where the kite was relocated without my permission after the second day of the event.

In other words, the kite was constantly relocated by some of the staff members without my permission (as can be appreciated in these images).

It is worth mentioning that on the second day of the event I found that several parts from the HS 293 missiles were missing due to this relocation.

Long story short, I was deeply disappointed to the relocation of my kite from the staff as you can imagine. I'm not aware that any other kite was so carelessly relocated as my kite on the entire event. As far as I know, as a common standard procedure, each kite can be relocated as long as the owner is present.

And then come the final and even a more disappointing blow. The main plane judge commented me after the event (with a patronizing smile), that my kite didn't won any prize due that he didn't knew that any of the He 177´s wore or used filler marks on the fuselage............ That these lines seems like bad unions that were not finished....... :fearscream:

He meant these filler marks:

I was so impressed that this guy (who's supposedly the main responsible character of judging the airplanes of the event, and of course, based on his experience), had the guts to make this uneducated comment after the event without even checking the web info. He looked as if he was even enjoying it............:dead2:

I just had to smile at him and wish him luck while I was containing myself to avoid any incident with this character. Regardless of this happening, I know what I built and life goes on.....

So, next stop will be an event called Model Fiesta in Texas to be celebrated on February 2027. I'll keep you posted my friends.

In the meantime, I will begin a 1/48 Fieseler 156 Storch, and complete a 1/72 Atreides Dune Ornithopter that is also on the process of being detailed with the external lights. I'll post also the advance of this kites.

Hope you all have a Great week my friends!!

Regards from Monterrey

That sucks, Gerry but big of you to maintain your cool. I enjoyed following the build

I had a similar experience around 45 years ago, where a judge criticized the amount of weathering/paint wear on the wing root of my Spitfire model, even though I had a detailed photo of the actual aircraft !
