Here's my humble build for this old kit of the Airfix Hawker Hunter FGA.9 depicting the Hunter of RAF 20 Squadron Leader based in Tengah Airbase, Singapore, circa 1965.

The kit was procured during the last "Kits for Kids" event in Singapore at $5. The canopy was missing, prompting the use of a canopy from a Revell kit, by replacing the whole front fuselage. Raised panel lines were sanded off and re-scribed. Decals were both original and from the spares collection. Paints are Mr Hobby Acrylics and weathered with Mr Hobby Weathering Pastels and Tamiya Panel Line Accent Colors.

The kit needed some additional mods and details, namely;
> Reshaping the wings;
> Added various antennas> IFF, wing aerials, ventrals, etc;
> Added details for the Sabrina;
> Replaced front fuselage and cockpit from a Revell kit;
> Replaced the tailpipe from a PJ set;
> Added fuel dump pipe;
> Added intake details;
> Added wheel well details;
> Reshaped air brake;
> The kit needed some lead weights on the nose as its a tail-sitter;

Hopefully Airfix/Hornby adds this in their "New Tooling" kits in the future, as this kit really pales in detail and accuracy compared to the Revell kit.
