The wing halves glued up and clamped to a set square so they dry flat and straight.

Very cool. I have always loved those Matchbox kits. They were always very cheap but looked good on finishing. I remember that with this kit if the cabane struts holding the top wing to the fuselage were not glued on perfectly straight, the wing would be wonky, which was what happened with my kit I built as a kid!

I didn't quite get the struts perfectly straight at first. Luckily I spotted my boob while the glue was still soft. I popped the top off the fuselage ahead of the cockpit and straightened it.

It's only got 39 parts I reckon I could have this built and painted in about two hours

The engine cooling gills were horrible blobs so I have sanded them down a bit and going to replace them with thin plasticard.

Let the glue dry and give them a light sand and they can't be any worse than the original.

Doctor Doctor I can't feel my legs. That's quite all right sir we had to amputate your hands.

I have chopped the wheel fairings off and fitted brass legs.

Good stuff. Those cowl flaps should look much better.

I can only find fuzzy shadowy picture but it looks like there's a boxy section behind the wheel, probably a suspension unit. So I have drilled a hole in some scrap plasticard to make a representation of it. It also helps glue the wheels in place.

Think I might have the legs a touch too long but it's only a mm.
