Thanks, too many ifs and maybes for my likings. I will do it like I did my 1990s 1/72 Airfix Lancaster Mk.III Admiral Prune. I'd rather be safe than sorry. I think my Admiral Prune is marked wrong though, it has a number of 4118 and the fuselage lettering of ZNY. Got originals number and the second ones letters? I have read other letters so I am a bit confused. Back to my "S for Sugar " build. fuselage is just about done.

The work has slowed, things stopped fitting, over engineering is causing fit issues. I am going to finish up the Revell Lancaster build as it seems to go together much better. This goes in the closet until I sort issues out. No more Airfix for a bit. Still prefer the 80s and 90s Airfix Lancasters.

Yes you are right, my only dislike is they went overboard on their engineering. If things aren't exactly perfect and square they don't fit into pre-ordained slots machined to tight tolerances, such as the ribs to wing fit. WAAAAYYYYY to over engineered. I like it but I am getting older and tight tolerances are not in the cards for me at 72 years old.

I know the feeling !
I'm now 73, and have arthritis, which is bad enough, but I currently have a trapped nerve in my neck and shoulder, causing numbness in my already stiff right hand - can't even hold a knife, let alone fiddle with small model parts !

I'll match you my clicking knee, hip pain encroaching arthritic fingers and abdominal hernia like feeling for your neck and shoulder pains any day. I already had bladder cancer and a TIA in 2006. Those are cured, at least for now.

Oh, the neck and shoulder things are just minor, and only there since late January, so a recent addition to the catalogue of knackered bits !

I have both Rheumatoid and osteo arthritis, with bent legs, both knees locked, stooped spine due to compression of lower vertebrae, about 20% use of the left hand, but no grip, limited articulation of the left arm and shoulder, with large nodules at the elbow (quite painful).
Right foot is rigid, and damage to the right ankle, and a chip in the right (rigidly locked) kneecap.
Right hand has limited articulation and grip, with "swan neck" fingers, bent down at the tips and unable to grip properly. Right shoulder has previous injury damage, causing limited movement and continuous pain, and a crack in one of the neck vertebrae severely restricting rotation and elevation and also painful to very painful 80% of the time.
(also a couple of old wounds and breakages cause regular "flare up" of often sever pain).
Due to the degraded immune system, there is muscle loss, leading to lack of lifting strength, and the lowered resistance of the immune system leads to lack of energy, and disrupted sleep due to discomfort and pain.
The current numbness in my right hand can be described as like having been burned, and then severely stung by nettles, with minimal sense of accurate feel when touching things.
Pain and discomfort is constant, 24 hours a day, and varies from a "good" day, where it's only like being hit with a hammer all over, which is manageable, to a "bad" day, when it's like falling off a roof and then being hit by a big truck!
On top of that is the frustration, where even the simplest tasks are incredibly difficult and very, very time consuming and painful, or totally impossible.
But apart from that, everything else is fine !

Did I mention tinnitus? Had that for over 60 years. Nothing better than hearing ringing 24-7-365. Won't even go on about my totally flattened out archless feet or bone degeneration and teeth slowly falling out. But you got me beat , if that's at all possible! LOL I have one foot on a banana peel and a big hole in front of me.
