Greetings chaps...
A departure from my usual scale of choice.... but have a look at the Italeri 1/72 Dakota painted up as a SAAF Vomit Comet from the Border War.
Airbrushed with my trusty Badger 350 freehand, I used Tam acrylics, and clear cotes. I also ended up having to use Crystal Clear for the windows as they all popped into the fuselage during the painting process. I didnt have any decals for a SAAF Dak, beyond the insigina, so I hand painted the yellow stencils around the windows/exits.
I'm still undecided if I want to finish her wheels up or down (always open to suggestions), and I have to add in the landing lights as well
When I showed the completed Dak to my old man (who flew them in the SAAF for a while), his comment was 'Nicely done, my boy... but it needs more oil streaks'.
