I never noticed the A6M2 has a higher "hood"(?) in front of the cockpit than the A6M5. I always looked at the exhaust layout. Nice post!

Rob I think its an optical illusion. The A6M5 has a taller engine cowling and the panel in front of the windscreen just goes straight. While the panel on the A6M2 slopes down to the smaller cowling.
