REASON FOR LOSS:
Part of a large formation carrying out a bomber escort duty. Formation entered cloud in conditions worst than forecast. W/O. Alojzy Rutecki who was section leader, lost control of his aircraft, formation split up and shortly after breaking cloud KM113 collided with Mustang KM201 flown by Fl/Sgt Stanislaw Magdziak.

Fifth producion batch of 350 aircraft built by A. V. Roe Co., Ltd., Yeadon, Yorkshire (being second part of Contract No. 1807 and the first part of Works Order No. 8589). First ten aircraft, LM301-LM310, built as Mk. I's; reminder built as Mk. III's; LM311-LM346; LM359-LM395, LM417-LM448, LM450-LM493, LM508-LM552, LM569-LM599, LM615-LM658, LM671-LM697 and LM713-LM756. Deliveries commenced in November 1942 and completed in October 1944. Average rate of production, approximately 3.6 aircraft per week.

The Kette (four planes) got lost due to bad weather in northern Sweden after returning from a mission in Russia. Two of the Messerschmitt's had to make forced landings there. The aircraft overturned in the rough landing. Uffz. Rudolf Reitz. Uffz. Guntram were interned by the Swedes.

The other Bf 110 (LN+FR WNr.4114) made a forced landing near by at Tärendö. Lt. Felix Brandis and Fw.Albert Harnack were interned.
On 7th. September both crews were returned to the Germans. Both aircraft's were also returned later on in September.
