On our trip out to Southern California we visited the Travel Town Train Museum while waiting for the Griffith Observatory to open. I was able to see a Type of geared Locomotive I have never actually seen before, I have seen and even rode on a Shay, but this is a Heisler it is powered by a V twin mounted in the center of the engine (Looks like a big Harley to my eyes). And the wheels are powered by driveshafts running down the center of the chassis. It is Heisler chassis 369 operated as 1369. I have a soft spot for gear drive trains for some reason.
