Particularly, the losses of BF 109s, with emphasis on encounters with BP Defiants?

109E-3 of 5.JG26 downed in combat with 66 Sq Spitfires and 264 Sq Defiants west of Dordrecht (Leutnant K. Borris baled out and captured).

Osprey's book on Defiant aces says that the Spitfires were unable to intervene in this fight so it might be reasonable to assume a Defiant shot Borris down.

Probably did Geo, but to rehash, for this date, 264 Sqn Daffy pilots claimed 1 Bf 109 and 3 Ju 87s. P/O Patrick Greenhous and his gunner Sgt Fred Greenhalgh (yes, they both were 'Greens'!) flying Defiant I L6977 'PS-U' made the Bf 109 claim. 264 was the only operational Defiant squadron at this time.

Borris, and his plane, landed near Numansdorp. Borris was captured and spent a few days in the prison in the burgomasters house. The Netherlands airforce tried to recover the plane, but if IRC it was to deep in the soft clay.
