2026 World Cup

FIFA doing the obvious and blame it on the media. That's the fashion nowadays, so hardly surprising.
I wonder how many investors are interested in a World Cup without many of the more important football teams. I mean, most of the teams that went to the quarter finals were still UEFA countries. A cup without them would be meaningless I think.

No its not FIFA. Its Infantino.

FIFA advisors and officials are starting to resign over this, saying they were never consulted or part of any discussions.

This is what happens when you put two of the most corrupt people (I don't need to name the other person) in the same room. Anyone with a brain knows how this all started.

That's the one piece of leverage that UEFA has over FIFA. Many of the world's best players come from UEFA countries. Removing them from the competition will have a huge impact on investors and on fans wanting to attend a rump World Cup.

If UEFA staged a Euro Cup at the same time as a World Cup, the Euros would win.

While the World Cup is amazing from a fans perspective and brings the world together, your average fan wants to see the powerhouses, teams like Spain, England, France, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, etc. Those teams bring in the money. Outside of Europe there really only are a handful of teams with that kind of draw. Probably just two I can think of. Argentina and Brazil.

So yeah, an UEFA boycott would be the death of the World Cup. UEFA has Infantino by the balls, and I'm glad they finally figured it out.

On the flip side, the US is probably going…

"This is our chance to place in the top 3!" :D

Yeap the dominos are falling…

My prediction: Infantino is forced out/resigns by September. Major FIFA overhaul.

Personally I would love to see the head of FIFA a rotating position, where they come from the various confederations, and voted in by the confederations.

He won't last long. AFC and CONCACAF have joined UEFA in protesting his plans.

Yeah but they both stopped short of a boycott. All bark, no bite.

"I just wish soccer was a real sport". Oh Lord please stop me I'm out of control (again) just trying to be funny!🤣🤣

Let's talk about real sport:

A football match is on the whole about 1h:45m in length, of which 1h:30m is real playing time.

In the US, a professional game of basketball spans about 2h:30m of which 45m(!) is real playing time.

For American "football" aka hand-egg, a game spans 3h:12m of which 11-18m is real playing time.

The stamina of US footballers is so low, they added two extra breaks to the game in FIFA, especially for the WC there so they have a little extra rest.

So apparently sitting down watching commercials is "real sport". :;)

Actually, all sports are silly. In baseball, one tries to hit a thrown ball so he can run around a circle with square corners. American football has 22 men fight over a pumpkin, while as soon as one is hurt, the tote him off and send in another. Soccer, the world's football, players run around in confusion, kicking and headbutting the ball, also learning acting. Look at Lacrosse, Hockey, Tennis, with a serious evaluation, why?
Now, soccer played the Mayan way would be something to watch.

Right! In golf, one hits the golf egg as far as possible so one can walk after it and hit again.
I am reminded of a customer contact who told me of his only golfing experience:
His father had asked a neighbor to take him golfing to learn. At 14, he said he was told he would be caddy. Standing at first tee, he watched and then was told, "Come on."
He said, "Where?"
"After the ball."
He said, "I'll wait in the car."
