I have an album of photos from a GI that was with the 465th Fighter Squadron on IE Shima and Okinawa in 1945-46 and need some help in identifying some of the planes in his photos. I don't think that all the planes were part of the 465th since some appear to be bombers and even a seaplane. Most have nose art and if you know any history for those specific planes I would be interested in hearing about that also.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Great pics!
Sorry I can't help with identifying the units, although someone here might be able to, but, from top to bottom the aircraft are:-
B24 Liberator
P38 Lightning
P61 Black Widow (night fighter).
P47N Thunderbolt
PBY Catalina
B24 Liberator
P47 Thunderbolt.
It's likely that, at the time, a number of units were either stationed on the base, or passing through.
