That might work for you "organized" guys, but I still prefer my "atomic bomb" method of desk arrangement.

Looks a bit like part of my desk/workbench, with empty (and washed out!) curry powder tubs holding pens, scalpels, rules etc, and other smaller tubs used for paints, paint mixing or whatever.
