I always liked the lines of the '65 and later Corvairs. I believe the suspension issues were sorted out by then as well.
The fix for the rear wheel "tuck under" was implemented by 1963 IIRC.

William Winn has worked for several decades supporting conversion of Corvair engines to aircraft.

Air cooled, 6 cylinders, lighter than a Continental O-200. GM made about 1.5 million, so the cores are readily available.

About 75SHP at a conventional prop RPM for a fraction of the cost of an aircraft engine.

As long as we are derailing on Corvairs, I submit the events of a neighbor who put his VW engine into a dune buggy kit and it was great, then for evermore power he put an Empy kit in the engine and it was even better, then for higher quest for power, he put a Corvair engine as replacement for the VW engine. Almost every time I saw let out the clutch, the front wheels came off the ground.

Thanks for the info. I was going nuts trying to remember "tuck under".
I thought I'd enjoy senility more.
