Why didn't the Soviet give Mig-23 a simple computer that adjust wing angle according to engine settings?
Would such a system have been feasible?

only digital thing Mig-23 had was pilot's Casio watch if he had such.... - you may not add simple computer because it needs proper sensors and A/D converters and interface with other aircraft systems - "simple" is a word which have totally different meaning in the world of aviation technology

One slaved to engine settings wouldn't be what you'd want.
Think of take off, wings forward for max lift, and max power too for quick takeoff
. Landing ( which would be with the wings forward ) is another flight condition where max power might be needed if you have to abort the landing.

well - simply you are wrong - it must be coupled with aero data sensors, absolutely not with engine control lever....

I don't think you understood what I said, , I said wing sweep controlled by engine power would not ( wouldn't) be safe., or what would work best.

sorry - you have been correct than - in fact it will be very bad idea to couple logic of such system with throttle setting

I learned the wing sweep on the MiG-23 was variable and the pilot could choose any wing sweep angle.

So it wasn't fixed as such.
