A small what-if: Germany buys licence for Breda SAFAT HMG instead for the Oerlikon FF?

...and install it in their aircraft where possible from late 1938 on. Is the Luftwaffe better off from late 1938 to 1941?

For fighters not much, if any, advantage.

For bombers, it may have some advantages.

The 12.7 Breda was the same weight (and close to the same size) as the US .50 cal.

109 two 7.9s in the cowl with one 12.7 in each wing?

Or the 12.7mm through the prop and four 7.9mm guns?

The 12.7 Breda wasn't that fast firing.

Two in the wings for the Bf 109E (plus one synchronised, or plus two LMGs synchronised). 150+- rd/gun nets a lot of fire duration vs. 60 rd drums for the MG FF. No 4 LMG version as it was the E-1.
Fourth through the prop for the 109F until the MG 151 is ready.
4-6 on Bf 110s (250-200 rd/gun), that now does not need the 'refill' mid-combat.
4 in the wing root of the Fw 190 in 1941.
