A26 Info.

Could any one tell me any thing about this paticular aircraft. I know it was in India during WWII that is about all I know. Looking for bomber group squadron information so on. Thanks.

Pictures are aircraft of the 12th bomb group in India at the end of WWII. The color one is a A-26B

I believe it is from the 38th Bomb Group and the 823rd Squadron,each squadron of the group had faces painted on thier aircraft they had B-25's and went to the A-26's the 71st sqd had a wolf face,the 822nd had a Panther,823rd A Tiger face(your photo) and the 405th had a Dragons face. they were under the 5th AAF and were known as the "Sunsetters".

I'm still looking for a great scheme for my A-26 [solid nose] when we repaint it later this year. Any ideas welcome as long as we can have a good view of the details..
