A4K's A-4Ks... 1:72 A-4 Skyhawk production line. (2 Viewers)

On a more serious note.
Do you have the taller square tipped tails for those or are you doing the rounded versions ?

Now that would be fun...

Karl - I have one 'On Target' Kahu resin conversion set which includes the square tail, but the rest of the A-4Ks and post-Kahu A-4Gs will be modified with scratchbuilt tips.
Only the pre-Kahu A-4Gs will have the rounded tails.

G'day guys!

As anyone who knows me knows, I love Skyhawks...(technically, the McDonnell-Douglas A-4, affectionately, the 'Scooter' or 'Squawk' as we call them in NZ).

I joined the RNZAF for these things, and have long had a dream/ goal to build one of every type of Squawk we used, from 1970- 2001, representing all major marking variations, colour schemes, avionics fitouts and weapon loads.

This will entail 12 RNZAF aircraft in total, based on 3 Esci and 9 Fujimi/ Hobby 2000 kits, all 1:72, aswell as some from other nations for variety and light relief.
The kiwis will be as detailed and accurate as I can physically make them.

Pics and info up as I go along...

Cheers,
Evan.

Are you going to do a model set of the most famous RNZAF A-4's?

The aerobatic team that flew connected by their in-flight refuelling system.

Ok, some changes in the plan...

- The Esci A-4E and F are now going to become the Kiwi Red pair in a Plugged Barrel Roll, as the markings I had for the Trial Green scheme are the wrong colour, and Kiwi Red flew in the Euro I ('Lizard') scheme I had planned for the 'Kahu II' bird...(and it would just look awesome anyway! :) )

- The Fujimi A-4F/TA-4J earmarked to become a SEA 2 scheme TA-4K will become an A-4K in same scheme. Still deciding if the Final Overall Green scheme bird will be an A-4K or TA-4K.

- For the 'Other nationality' birds, my son and daughter have claimed 4 of them (Italeri A-4E scrapper, 2x A-4M, and OA-4M).
They previously claimed my two Hasegawa TA-4Js which I built OOB for them, yet to be painted still.
That lightens my load quite a bit, especially as I would have had to rescribe them all, leaving me with the following:

Italeri OA-4M - AF-1A, Brazil.
Tamiya (Italeri) A-4E - A-4E, USN.
Airfix A-4B/4P - prob. A-4P/Q, Argentina.
(There may be more in future :-) )

Good Gawd................

I'm very thankful for them too Geo! I remember well when you couldn't get kiwi roundels at all, or if you could, they were inaccurate and had to be corrected by overpainting.
We are very fortunate to have some lovely sets available now.

Just about Andy!
