Airspeed Indicator Ref 6A/1296

Hi all

Can anyone shed some light what aircraft used this ASI its dated 1949 thanks.

The Air Speed Indicator Mark IXF* Ref 6A/1296 was used for the DH Mosquito NF Mk.XIX in Sweden marked as J 30.

The air speed indicators were quite similar but differed in the speed range. Below there are two ones Mk IXE and Mk IXF of the Ref 6A/ calibrated in MPH but not in Knots. Certailny the Ref numbers were different as well.

Mk IXE fitted to early Spitfires and all Lancasters.

Mk IXF fitted to later Spitfires

And here two examples of the Mk IXF dated on 1944 and very likely used for Seafire ... and Mk IXG dated on 1949 fitted to the Seafire.
