All the reason for Ukraine to commence its punch through the front lines and start the end game. Thousands of Ukrainian citizens are in essentially slavery death camps, waiting for the higher ups in Kyiv to decide that the conditions for the major move are acceptable.
And I think those previous wars are part of the problem. Because the public have grown used to pointless wars, now there is one that is actually worth supporting they're tired of all wars.In GW1, GW2, Afghanistan, Iraq occupation, etc. I think there was some public and perhaps even servicepeople confusion as to what the fight was for. For what purpose, for example did over 7,000 U.S. troops die in Afghanistan's invasion and subsequent occupation? How is the USA, its NATO allies or Afghanistan better off today?
But Ukraine's war is in my lifetime the first "good war" where Western values and people are helping an ally to fight an evil, clearly discernable enemy whose defeat is both definable and achievable. And whose defeat will make the West stronger, more united and bring Ukraine firmly out of ex-Soviet corruption and into the light of the West. When this war is over Ukraine will be a leading economic power in Europe and as a NATO member able to do more than its share to stand up to Russia. That's why I support helping Ukraine to the bitter end, because it's achievable and hopefully good for the world order (a total geopolitical collapse of Russia and subsequent power vacuum may not be, so let's no ask for that).
And in the meantime...If anyone tries to say it is still only a local problem between Ukraine and Russia it is worth pointing out the Russian
financed 'operations' going on in African countries right now (Wagner group in Central African Republic (CAR), Libya, Mali, and Sudan).
Last time I heard a Civil war is between two parties from the same country. This was/is an invasion.A cable channel yesterday interviewed a retired army Lt. Col. who indicated the U.S. should not be involved in what goes on in Ukraine and called the action in 2014 a civil war that is still going on. With officers such as this, I see what went wrong in Viet Nam.
Yeah, they get repurposed to replace all the windows that keep getting broken.Just a thought, does Russia have retired Lt Col's
General Ivan Popov is reported to have disappeared following the publication of his highly critical remarks about the conduct of the war in southern Ukraine. He said earlier that he had been dismissed after criticising the Russian senior military leadership.

He may have popov a few rounds into his head (stopping to reload, of course) while suffering from a bout of accute suicide.Did he pop off?
Sorry...I'll definitely get my coat for that one!
Tough job. He'll have to hit the ground running. Or just hit the ground. Or tea. I'm not choosy.More Wagner intrigue:
Andrei Troshev: who is Wagner mercenary Putin wants to replace Prigozhin?
Russian President Vladimir Putin said he had proposed to Wagner Group fighters that a senior mercenary known as Sedoi, which means "grey hair" in Russian, command them instead of Yevgeny Prigozhin.www.reuters.com
