Assuming their maintenance is better than NATO, about 55-60?I wonder how many Kamovs are left in Russian service?
How many KA-52 (alligator) helicopters does Russia have left? They seem to fall from the skies with regularity and are expensive to repla...
Answer (1 of 10): Okay, Russia claims to have built a couple hundred. We know that means about half that number will actually be any good at one time in terms of being able to fly in service. Russia has lost about 60, meaning there might be 40 or so that are serviceable at one time or another, a...www.quora.com
Concentrated in one spot a force that size can rip up an armoured breakthrough that is lacking air cover. MANPADS and Gepards can only do so much.Assuming their maintenance is better than NATO, about 55-60?
Jim,Could you quantify this in terms of hours? At how many total hours flying time, from first solo flight to combat readiness for a pilot? 1,000? 2,000? How much flying time?
Thanks!
Jim
Yet another hard-hitting and thoughtful piece of analysis from WarOGraphics - thanks for posting!!
That's very interesting. Thank you for answering my question. Less time than I would have thought. I would presume you would have completed a lot of simulator work on types as well as systems and munitions simulations. I will put together dad's training at different stages.Jim,
I graduated from Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) with 195 hours. Then you will get about 15-20 more in AT-38s, then off to fighter school. I graduated F15 school with 55 hours in type, and got about 15-20 more at my gaining base to become Mission Ready (MR). Basic wingman.
2 ship Flight lead took about 300-350 hours in type, 4 ship about another 50-100, then IP shortly afterwards.
IP upgrade was only about 20 hours but took about 6-8 weeks of pain.
I didn't do it in minimum time but close and that varies by individual performance and unit needs.
Nah, Crimea holiday Industry is booming, never has been so healthy. There goes the Russia to Crimea holiday industry.
Whomever it was at FMC Corp who designed the Bradley, you have saved many Ukrainian soldiers and liberated civilians. A job well done.
I've read that in the Gulf War the US Army Bradleys killed as many Russian tanks as the Abrams.
I think this was it?Wasn't there a comedy movie made about government waste and fraud involving the Bradley?
No way I'd get on a plane with him on board.Beat me to it!
