Articles like this are a necessary reminder that the reality of the war (or of ANY major geo-political event....) is far more nuanced than we (and that certainly includes myself) are tempted to believe. Yes, Russia is an agressive, revisionist, expansionist, quasi-fascist gangster's playground run by a monolithic, kleptocratic clique, with a jumped-up chekist with a colossal inferiority complex as its head. However, there are those brave, principled individuals who are willing to speak out against the crimes being committed in the name of Ruskiy Mir. Thank you for posting this!

Ukrainian strikes reportedly damaged Russian aircraft and equipment at an airfield in Kursk Oblast on August 27. RBK-Ukraine cited Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) sources that SBU military counterintelligence conducted a drone strike on an airfield near Kursk City on the night of August 27, damaging four Russian Su-30 fighter aircraft, one MiG-29 fighter aircraft, and radars for a S-300 missile system and two Pantsir missile systems.[26] Kursk Oblast Governor Roman Starovoyt claimed that Ukrainian drones damaged an apartment building, and Russian milbloggers claimed on August 28 that satellite imagery of the airfield showed no visible damage to Russian military equipment.[27] ISW cannot independently confirm the results of the Ukrainian strikes.

I read the following posting

Ukrainian forces are reported to have successfully obliterated a multi-million dollar avant-garde Russian radar system in the occupied Kherson region.
Knewz.com is reporting that the radar system, known as the Predel-E, was destroyed by high-precision HIMARS missiles, manufactured and donated by the United States.
Dramatic drone footage has since emerged showing the moment when equipment was obliterated in a pinpoint strike by Volodymyr Zelensky's forces.

According to The Sun, the radar system was said to be resting in the Port of Zaliznyi in the Russian-occupied Kherson region.

The drone footage shows plumes of black smoke billowing into the air after the HIMARS missiles hit their mark, reducing the mobile unit to a charred metal skeleton.
The attack not only destroyed the Predel-E but also took out a Leer-2 electronic warfare system that was meant to protect the radar.
Additionally, a Strizh electronic warfare system and two Murom-P video surveillance systems were also reportedly wiped out.
The radar system had only been in operation since June and was considered a "unique" addition to Russia's military arsenal. It was designed to detect and track low-flying aerial targets as well as those approaching on the ground.

One thing struck me. These are all small, high value targets that would have been well protected. Yet they seem to have been destroyed by HIMARS rockets.
Relatively recently there were a number of reports, admitted by both sides, that Russia had come up with a way of confusing, jamming or decoying HIMARS rockets so that they were no where near as effective as they had been.
If the above is even partly accurate, then it seems as if Ukraine with no doubt the assistance of the USA, have learnt how to overcome this jamming. If I were a Russian soldier in a trench, this would be the worst possible news
