Just how in the corndog hell is a trailerpark ornament going to prevent ordnance from taking out those bombers?Russia Is Using Tires To Protect Its Bombers From Aerial Attack
Arranging surplus tires atop Russian bombers is likely a highly makeshift countermeasure used to thwart Ukrainian long-range missile strikes.www.thedrive.com
if anything, they'd likely increase the IR signature. Being black, they absorb heat.Reputedly they MAY be trying to reduce the targets IR signature. Personally I doubt it makes much difference as the fuel in the aircraft will keep the structure temperature fairly stable.
White sidewall tyres maybe ?if anything, they'd likely increase the IR signature. Being black, they absorb heat.
The whole reason much of NATO has any postwar military hardware at all is to deter and if necessary kill/destroy Russians and Russian hardware. That's one of the benefits of this war, NATO gets to rundown the Russian military without any cost in NATO lives, often with donated kit that was due for replacement. The West will owe Ukraine a big thank you when this is over.Agreed - and the irony is that these Western tanks are fighting the very tanks they were designed to engage.
No, no, no. You have got it wrong. The Russians are working on the belief that when the Ukrainian drone operators see this they will be laughing so hard that they will give the Russians time to shot down the drone. It's camoflage.
Nope! No bombers here. Just a dirty pile of old tires. Nothing to see here. Move along.
