I vote for #5Russian Troops Face An Impossible Choice: Burn Inside Their Flimsy Vehicles, Or Ride Outside And Get Killed By Drones
Ukraine’s explosives-laden drones are barreling into Russian troops perched atop their vehicles, blowing off heads and limbs and sending burning bodies flying.www.forbes.com
Well there is a third and forth option:
- Leave Ukraine
- Desert to Ukraine
A new Olympics competition for Russians onlyThey may save crew lives occasionally, but they will never win a turret toss competition.
Was Bahkmut strategic? I can't help but think the Ukrainians would have been better to surrender space there and focus on cracking on to Melitipol before the hundreds of thousands of land mines were emplaced. Instead the Ukrainians focused on holding Bahkmut, only to give it up anyway. If the village/town is not strategic, then it makes no sense to hold it any longer.
Additional info on that.A massive missile/drone strike overnight with 100+ missiles.
Not all were shot down and something went astray over Poland.
Multiple civilian deaths reported.
That's all the russians are able to do - target and kill/hurt civilians.
They seem to be afraid to move their ships closer to Ukraine - no naval missile launches reported. All air/ground launched.
The physical location of Bakhmut is not particularly strategic, but as the Battle wore on, the Ukranians realized that it was a valuable asset and exploited it.Was Bahkmut strategic? Oops I think you posted while I was writing more or less the same. They may have lost a Backfire through as it disappeared from radar in the Kursk region. Maybe their air defense panicked again and shot it down.
I wonder if some UAF Vipers are already in country.By the way there is a rumor that a Tu-22M3 was shutdown over Kursk.
