I wonder which light planes might be good at drone dropping. Is Rosie the Rocketer available for a comeback performance? For knocking down drones how about the Defiant. Pull along side and let loose with the turret.
Maybe the Pilatus or the Super Tucano (this one with 2×FN Herstal M3P 12,7 mm internal in the wings) could be good choices.I wonder which light planes might be good at drone dropping. Is Rosie the Rocketer available for a comeback performance?
Are you talking about the 172RG Cutlass RG?I gave this some thought and I may have hurt myself.
What's the Cessna that looks like a 172 but has retractable landing gear? The Sky Wagon? Seating for gunner/observers. The LG is out of the way and only one thin strut to obscure arcs of fire. High wing won't obscure visibility as (I believe) the Cessna has a better performance envelope and will be looking down for targets. Stowage for small arms ammo AND lunch. Way cheaper than those cool COIN planes. There's probably a few available already there, or near enough.
It really depends upon which sort of drone you are looking at. Looking at the speeds of some of the common ones in use by the Russians:I wonder which light planes might be good at drone dropping. Is Rosie the Rocketer available for a comeback performance?

Bingo! A pilot and 3 gunner/observers. Faster than those drones. Easy peasy.
