Ukraine pounded Russian regions with missiles and drones on Wednesday as Kyiv said it was advancing deeper in the biggest foreign incursion into Russia for decades, which the White House said posed a "real dilemma" for President Vladimir Putin.
Embedded in this article is a video from the Times of India which has a strong tendency to be pro Russia. In the video a drone can be seen flying over a moving APC which has the troops on top. You see one soldier take one shot and clearly hits the drone. What I find interesting is the reaction of the soldiers. The first is F--K in shock at the hit, but this is closely followed by cries that the EW isn't working. The reason that I don't believe that this is false is because of the cry re the EW being ineffective. If this had been a propaganda piece, the last bit wouldn't have been in it.
It is only anecdotal I agree, but Ukraine does seem to be having more success than Russia in the use of the drones. This both at the tactical level and at the strategic level in their attacks on Airbases.
I've seen several videos of Ukrainian FPV drones attacking various Russian assets and during the final moments of their terminal dive, the video feed goes blank prior to impact.
So there does seem to be interference in many cases.
The problem for the Russians seem to be two-fold:
First, the range of their jammer seems to be limited and secondly, the Ukrainian FPV tactics are to acquire the target in such a way that even if disabled, the drone's final dive is carried through by sheer momentum and the strike is most often confirmed by an observation drone.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said more than 100 Russian soldiers had been captured as prisoners of war, to "speed up the return home of our boys and girls".
Russian soldiers previously surrendered to drones spontaneously. Now Ukraine is sending drones with speakers to take Russian soldiers safely into captivity.
Three Russian air bases were apparently struck in what may well have been the biggest Ukrainian drone strike of its kind so far. Three Russian air bases were apparently struck in what may well have been the biggest Ukrainian drone strike of its kind so far.
