Agreed 100%. Leadership of the Kursk defence efforts could well be a poison chalice .... Gerasimov might be quite happy to see a shambolic response to the Ukrainian offensive. Everyone in near-Vlad orbit will have their own agenda...plans within plans, etc.........As am I. Gerasimov is on the outside looking in as his offensive is stripped of troops and his HQ is sidelined, but all the same, Dyumin being a governor and confidant of Putin is no CV for fighting off a mobile offensive. This may -- repeat may -- allow Ukraine to feed this success, even if only by dribs and drabs. Or it may wind up being another static front.
If Dyumin wins out, Gerasimov looks the fool. If Dyumin loses, Putin will be under a lot more pressure.
