I like that Assad is gone, but it's not unlikely his successors are at least as bad. Their leader is ex-al Qaeda and the territory from which the rebels expanded is reportedly only slightly more liberal than the Taliban.
 
Regime change rarely has a happy ending. Replace one brutal dictator with a more brutal dictator. One corrupt oligarch wih a more corrupt oligarch. And in democracies the Will of the People is often selfish and short-sighted.
2025 is shaping up to be very interesting.

There's that, plus the likelihood that there still won't be peace, as these rebels are in part supported by Turkey and that spells bad news for the Kurds.

Zelensky has announced Ukrainian KIA numbers. This is his first update since February.
43,000 KIA according to him.
He also said there were 370,000 "cases of medical assistance" and that those were not the total number of the wounded in action, as several cases can be applied to the same person.
3,935 were returned from captivity since 24th Feb 2022, including 168 civilians.
