Russia hides Tu-160 bombers in America’s shadow
Russia has quietly redeployed its Tu-160 strategic bombers to Anadyr airbase in the country’s far east, just 500 kilometers from the U.S. state of Alaska — a move analysts call a paradoxical attempt to protect its aircraft from Ukrainian dronedefence-blog.com
Would such a vessel be considered a BMC (Ukrainian Navy) unit, and would then convention require the converted armed trawler to raise the naval ensign or jack or before launching its attack? So I guess very soon the Ukrainians will have a swarm of drones depart a fishing trawler in the east.
Anadyr can be reached by the vessel, of course. But marine traffic is thin in that area, so it's hard to avoid detection.Russia hides Tu-160 bombers in America’s shadow

Good questions. At the current level of technology, it's possible to launch the drones from the unmanned vessel. Naval ensign can be raised remotely as well.Would such a vessel be considered a BMC (Ukrainian Navy) unit, and would then convention require the converted armed trawler to raise the naval ensign or jack or before launching its attack?

Once the Ukrainian trawler self declares as a BMC vessel, does that make it fair game for any Russian SSN in the area? Of course Ukraine is more likely to forgo any of this and act in the shadows. But then are you a rogue armed ship sailing the open sea striking at will, akin to a pirate or terrorist?
One of the reasons I always liked Singapore and the Netherlands.Over the years since I have been amazed by people who can carry a conversation with several people in different languages at the same time.
