Ukraine is reporting it destroyed two Su-34s on the ground at the Marinovka airfield and damaged two more on the 27th. It then also reports it destroyed an Mi-8, an Mi-26, and an Mi-28 at Kirovske airfield in Crimea on the 28th.
Ukraine is being coy about what exactly it used to hit the targets, but reports are they were struck with domestically produced long range drones.
Marinovka is ~450 km from the front lines. Which means that whatever hit it went at least that far, and quite probably much further.
The fact that individual targets like aircraft were hit raises the possibility that Ukraine has developed drones with a combination of long range AND precision striking capabilities. This could make things very sticky for Russian aviation assets stationed close to the front lines.
At the start of the year, Ukraine announced a target of producing 30,000 "long range" drones this year, along with 3,000 cruise missile/jet drone/rocket drone style weapons.
Ukraine has reportedly been hoarding some of the latter category of weapon over the last few months, possibly as many as 1000. Russia is reporting nightly intercepts of 40-50 weapons deep inside their territory over the last few nights, so maybe we're seeing that stockpile being expended now?
