Ha! You guys scoffed at me when I suggested sending M-113s to Ukraine. He who scoffs last scoffs best.
This may be the only thing I ever got right here so I'm never letting it go.
"Scoff scoff scoff."
Actually I'm smoking now so that's me coughing.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that his military has captured two North Korean soldiers fighting on the Russian side in the Kursk region, likely the first such development since Pyongyang dispatched soldiers to help with the Kremlin's war in Eastern Europe.

Zelensky wrote Saturday on social media the two soldiers, when captured, were wounded and were taken to Kyiv, the country's capital, to be interrogated by the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), also known as SBU, the nation's main internal security agency.

"This was not an easy task: Russian forces and other North Korean military personnel usually execute their wounded to erase any evidence of North Korea's involvement in the war against Ukraine," Zelensky said in a Saturday post on the social media platform X while adding that the North Koreans are getting medical attention.

The Ukrainian president added that he instructed the SBU to give reporters access to the pair of prisoners because the "world needs to know the truth about what is happening."

Is Ukraine signatory to the Geneva Convention? PoWs are not allowed to be used for propaganda, and this might be in violation.

They've been violating that for three years now.
But on a scale of atrocities, I'd say photographing prisoners is a bit low compared to executing prisoners and civilians.

The Geneva Conventions specifically allows one side to ignore most of the conventions IF the other side has already done so. During the meetings that resulted in the GC (and other international conventions) the various parties realized that if one side does not follow the "gentleman's rules" it puts the other side at too much of a disadvantage in many circumstances.

Russia violated the no use of prisoners as propaganda laws within the first 2 months of the start of the war. So did Ukraine - I have no idea who did so first.

There are certain behaviors that are largely considered to be applied regardless of whether a country is party to a particular convention or other international law - knowingly targeting civilians is one of them - but taking pictures of captured prisoners is not one of them. Even torturing combatant prisoners for information is not sacrosanct - as was proven by the US after capturing various members of al-Queda and other organizations listed as extremist/terrorist.

I see Ukraine presenting the DPRK soldier POWs as evidence of an interference by a foreign nation in this conflict.
Previous to this, NK casualties have been mutilated by Russian troops to conceal their identities (crushing heads, burning bodies, etc.) or stating that they're "Siberian".
These Koreans (along with Russian regulars) will receive medical attention, huminatarian treatment and proper care unlike captives of the Russians, who get stripped to their underwear and shot in the head.
