Is it me or are Russian tanks now taller in silhouette than their NATO counterparts?

I'm thinking that an SAP shell with thermite around a small exploding charge would bake everyone in there. And yes, to your point, these things are going to be easier to hit for having a higher profile. Where's me my A-10s?

Yeah - just imagine *if* Russia actually had the ability to win a war against a legit world super power.

Then again, Hitler still beleived Germany could win the war - while Soviet tanks roamed the streets above his bunker...

Aside from the fact that these iron bunkers limits the turret's traverse and visual threat/target ability, it's also a prime target for Ukrainian FPVs to fly into and detonate - the "cage" enhances the explosion, which increases the destructive power that otherwise would have been minimal to the tank's armor.
 
Even Russian submarines are easier to spot today. According to Moscow, there's nothing wrong with the sub and it surfaces as planned…but it's being towed and, according to some reports, has lost most of its fuel. I'll leave it up to you, dear reader, to decide which account to believe:
